Fenty Beauty Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Substance (34 € for 30ml when posting): A solution of choice for oily to combination skin . When it first came out, this foundation got a lot of attention thanks to its selection of no less than 40 inclusive shades - still far too rare in the world of cosmetics. Ideal for combination to oily skin, it not only offers excellent hold and very good coverage, but at the identical time offers a nice matte finish. Small downsides: the formulation does not seem to be suitable for dry, sensitive and mature skin, and its composition is far from top. Note that the powder version of Pro Filt'r (which you were telling you about here ) is also very successful. techsupportreviews

Estée Lauder Double Wear (€ 42.06 for 30ml when published):
Unbeatable on the market thanks to its coverage and long wear . Available in
more than 30 shades, it seduces with its high coverage, its renowned hold and
its untransferable character. Its formula therefore requires fairly quick work,
because the product dries quickly. The advantage is that it is ideal in case of
heat - or even combined with wearing a mask. Rather ideal for more elaborate
makeup, it still ensures a finish that remains fairly natural. Once again,
however, it is in terms of its composition - and, in our opinion, its price -
that the shoe pinches.
How to choose your
foundation?
It is well known, nothing like a successful make-up base and
a unified complexion to enhance yourself and look good. And, if you are looking
for a product with more coverage than a BB cream , foundation is often the
ideal solution.
However, there is such a mass and variety of products on the
market that it can be situated very difficult to determine which one will suit
you and please you the most.
We have therefore gathered the important information to know
and likely to guide you to the best choice.
First of all, foundations can come in different forms:
•Liquid foundation : these are the most common on the
market, and the most popular with users. They exist mainly in two versions: the
first rather moisturizing, which illuminates the complexion and offers a
“glowy” finish, and a second with more mattifying properties, ideal for hiding
small imperfections.
•Foam foundation : they are especially recommended for
combination to oily skin. They are light, comfortable to wear and easy to
apply. The rendering is often very natural.
•Compact foundation : they are thicker and more covering.
The cream version is ideal for rather dry skin, while, in the form of mineral
powder , it will suit more oily skin thanks to its mattifying effect.
•The stick foundation : it is above all its format that is
very practical. It applies directly to the face, and can be easily stored in
your bag for a few touch-ups during the day. This type of foundation is also
often more covering.
Knowing this, they should also be tailored to your needs and
preferences, depending on:
•Skin type : in general, the more marked and drier your skin
is , the more thick and very covering foundations will tend to mark “problem”
areas. Instead, opt for products enriched with moisturizing active ingredients.
For combination and oily skin , a foundation with mattifying power is ideal.
Note that there are also specific bases to apply before makeup, for optimal
application and hold.
•Skin tone : the ideal is to choose your foundation
according to the color of your neck, in order to avoid any trace of too obvious
demarcation. In recent years, cosmetic brands have tended to create larger
shade selections, but there is still a way to go. Know that many people need two
shades to alternate according to the season, or sometimes even to mix in order
to obtain the ideal color.
•Coverage and ease of application : some foundations are
more difficult to apply than others. For a natural look, it is better to opt
for a fluid foundation, the coverage of which is more flexible. Also note that,
for a soft and easy application, the ideal is to prepare your skin for makeup:
do not hesitate to take a look at our reviews of the best day creams and
exfoliators !
•The composition : generally, conventional cosmetics contain
various silicones, mineral oils and preservatives which, quite often, are
controversial for health. Ideally, they should be avoided - or in any case
monitored - in the event of daily use. In turn, the majority of natural and
organic foundations include in their formula titanium dioxide , a mineral used
as a colorant.
Note that, for our part, we focused above all on fluid
foundations, available in various variants that may suit everyone, in order to
ensure better consistency in our selection.
NB: to properly prepare your skin and ensure long-lasting
makeup, it may be beneficial to start with a foundation . But to finalize it
all, nothing like a mattifying powder and a good highlighter , to further
illuminate certain areas of your face.
